Local Farms
Partnering with organic farms based in Western New York
Abers Acres
Kennedy, NY
In 1984 we opened our first location at Route 394 one mile west of Kennedy, NY. At that time we primarily sold Strawberries and Sweet Corn. Although this location remains our home farm and we are certainly well know for those two major crops, we have since then branched out both in physical locations and in the variety of produce and other products, such as Blueberries and Christmas Trees, we provide our customers.
After these many years, Abers Acres has become recognized as on of the area’s favorite spots to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables. After years of producing healthy produce using organic farming practices, we are proud to be offering the healthiest of produce which our customers value.
Dirt Rich Farm
Springville, New York
Dirt Rich Farm is committed to growing vegetables organically, using heirloom and open-pollinated seeds whenever appropriate to promote biodiversity, choosing crop rotation and ecological controls instead of toxic chemicals to deal with pests and disease, and focusing on building healthy, life-filled soil through low-till practices, because good food comes from good soil!
Crops include lots of familiar favorites, like lettuce, carrots, sugar snap peas, and potatoes, in addition to crops not commonly grown in our climate, like baby ginger and amaranth greens, and many heirloom and unusual varieties of vegetables, including over 15 varieties of tomatoes and a dozen different kinds of peppers.
Domaine Lachaal
Buffalo - Tunisia
Based in Buffalo, NY, Domaine Lachaal brings our family’s handcrafted Tunisian extra virgin olive oil from our farm to tables everywhere.
Dr. Mohsen Lachaal founded Domaine Lachaal in 1998 with the intent of bringing the traditions of his olive growing family in Tunisia to his home in Buffalo, NY. Six years after his death in 2010, Dr. Mo’s son took up his father’s quest and traveled to Tunisia, connecting with his family’s culture and learning every step in the process of olive oil production.
Tunisia is the leading olive oil producing country in the southern Mediterranean region. On its eastern shore, the Lachaal family tends their groves with the same methods they have for centuries.
Gentle Bee Honey
East Aurora, New York
Gentle Bee Honey specializes in producing fine Western New York raw honey. Every drop of honey is harvested by hand. We never heat our honey above 115 degrees in order to preserve the flavor and aroma unique to honeys in our area. We are working to select bee stock to provide very gentle bees, hence the name of the farm.
Gentle Bee Honey is dedicated to keeping our hives healthy and thriving so we can source raw, traceable and quality honey products for you.
Heartland Organics
Niagara County, New York
It all began with Fink’s Greenhouse many years ago, a successful greenhouse and floral business. The owners became parents, who then became beloved grandparents, and passed their craft and creativity down through generations. Today, the same store front (renovated) has become the home of Heartland Organics, where the love of florals remains.
Located in the heart of Niagara County, NY, our farm was founded in the early 1800s. Although it is gone now, for decades the family’s business, Fink’s Flower Shop and Greenhouse, was a staple for countless local families.
In 2017, owner Elaine Barnett restored her family’s farm and renamed it Heartland Organics. The farm’s new focus is on certified organic specialty mushrooms and vegetables (in season), and carries on the tradition of fresh, cut flowers (also in season).
Life Itself
buffalo, NY
Life Itself is a local company based out of downtown Buffalo. Life Itself focuses on creating products using adaptogenic mushrooms and tonic herbs to enrich the lives of its consumers, while promoting restoration to the surrounding environment in which our ingredients are harvested. Currently Life Itself's product offerings are centered around the Chaga Mushroom, which we personally harvest.

Little Valley, New York
PROVIDING HEALTHY FOOD FOR THE BUFFALO AREA SINCE 1997
Fruit and vegetable shares reflect our NY growing season. Always fresh, in season and organic, we grow a great selection of fruits and vegetables. Know where your food comes from and how your food is grown, and experience the joys of eating in season.
It’s our mission to provide our community with the best food and to build regional resiliency. Commercial produce and fruit has only a fragment of the taste. Some elements are there but there is a taste void. We grow the real thing and we can help you grow your own!
Porter Farms
Elba, New York
Porter Farms’ commitment to sustainable agriculture is extensive. In addition to meeting the "certified organic" standards on all of its farmland by the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York, Jack was instrumental in determining the criteria for certification of an organic field. Steve was a board member of the Organic Farming Research Foundation and served as project coordinator in Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education initiatives as well.
The certification process, regulated by the Federal Department of Agriculture and conducted by independent groups (such as NOFA-NY), assures the land is free of synthetic pesticides and herbicides and is cultivated with "chemical-free" methods. It also means using natural ways of adding organic matter to the soil and encouraging beneficial micro-organisms as well as tried-and-true measures such as crop rotation, cover crops and minimum tillage.
While larger supermarkets in the area direct their produce through warehouses in Ohio or Pennsylvania before trucking it back here to sell, our CSA vegetables are distributed the day after they are picked, bringing maximum flavor, freshness and health benefits directly to your table.
Thorpes Organic Family Farm
East Aurora, New York
We grow a wide variety of certified organic fruits and vegetables at our farm in western NY. Thorpe’s Organic Family Farm began in 1983, when Mike and Gayle began their farming adventures together. Six kids and 41 years later, and the family farm continues, thanks to Mike and Gayle’s vision, and the hard work of many good friends through the years.
Our farming methods rely on age old practices such as cover crops, crop rotation, organic animal manure for fertilizer, and lots of weeding by hand. We believe farming with organic methods fosters a healthier soil environment, and subsequently healthier food for all of us!
